Started in 2012, the computer lab at Anji is helping kids to get a first hands-on experience in working with computer.
SAP Labs India donated 12 Laptops to Rural Blessing Mission (Parent organisation of BTC) to make the setup of this computer lab possible

The computer lab needs urgent upgrade and renovation. Most of the laptops donated to us have outlived their utility and are not usable any more. The lab is too small and currently run down., We need urgent support in renovating this computer lab

The computer lab has offers basic computer training to under-privileged kids.

The computer center offers a chance for the children at Good Shepherd English school to access study related content in the internet

The kids get to watch videos in the internet that present study topics, e.g difficult to execute science experiments, mathematic topics, current events etc.

The staff from the school use the computers to access content in the internet to upgrade their knowledge that help them to teach the kids in better way.

Since 2012, many kids, especially girls received an opportunity to see and experience working with computers. Many of our older students have got job opportunities due to their computer awareness.

Goal: To provide an opportunity for underprivileged kids, youth and adults to learn basics of computer and thereby improve their knowledge and chances of finding employment.

What has been done so far:
In April 2012, SAP Labs India donated 12 used Laptops to setup a computer center in Anji village in Wardha district, in Maharashtra. Since last 7 years many kids and young adults have got this opportunity to learn how to use a computer. Simple stuff like using the MS office, how to browse the internet, watching educational videos  etc were the most frequent usage here.  However the computer center needs an urgent upgrade since all the laptops by now have become defective, the furniture is broken and the whole lab is run down.  Due to incessant power cuts it is hard to run this lab in the present condition and help these kids.

What is needed?
An upgrade of the computer lab at Anji.  This would involve building an additional room in the Good Shepherd English school and setting up the computer center there.

What is the cost estimate for this project?
Around 1,500,000 Indian rupees (around 20,000 EUR)
